IBM Connections 5.5 and IBM Docs 2.0 Announced

IBM announced to release the next, long awaited, Version of IBM Connections and IBM Docs this Friday, the 18 of December.

There are many new Features including the design change.

IBM Connections 5.5

  • Nested Folders in Personal and Community Files
  • New viewer experience which allows you to review the files without downloading them.
  • Smart Type-Ahead search
  • Rich Text Editor improvements
  • Ability to create more powerful team sites, carved for specific needs.
    • New Community Layouts
    • Ability to Rename Apps based on your audience
  • And more.

IBM Docs 2.0

  • New File Viewer
  • Inline comments are preserved while editing files offline.
  • Ability to save a file as draft and working with other editors before publishing that file to readers.
  • Support for up to 20 simultaneous editors at the same time.
  • And more.

New Version of IBM Connections Desktop Plug-in is available

A new version of IBM Connections 5.5 Desktop plug-in is available, it can be downloaded from here.

New in this release is the following:

  •     Nested folders (Windows Explorer).  Note: Nested folders are not yet available for sync or in Office plugins.
  •     Improved Explorer drag/drop support, including ability to drop a file (or folder) from the desktop directly into a Connections folder.
  •     Improved type ahead support.
  •     Serbian language support.

The upgrade is simple, you can install it over the previous version, after that you just need to reboot your PC.
